DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide) is a natural neuropeptide of nine amino acids (nonapeptide), with the sequence Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu. It was discovered through research into the brain factors of deep sleep (delta waves) and is one of the most studied peptides related to sleep and stress regulation.
It is a small molecule that crosses the blood-brain barrier, which makes it of interest for central nervous system research. Unlike Semax (nootropic) or Selank (anxiolytic), DSIP is oriented towards sleep and stress balance.
It is studied in research for the regulation of sleep and circadian rhythm, the modulation of stress and cortisol and neuroprotective/antinociceptive actions. See the range in the all peptides category.
In the Peptology version, it is supplied as a lyophilised powder for research use with purity > 99%, in a 5 mg format. It is intended exclusively for scientific, research and in vitro applications — it is not a medicine and is not approved for human/veterinary use.

The exact mechanism of DSIP is not fully clarified, but research links it with sleep, circadian rhythm and hormonal balance.
DELTA SLEEP
DSIP was linked with the delta waves of deep sleep — the restorative phase — and is studied for its role in sleep architecture.
STRESS AND CORTISOL
It is studied for the modulation of the stress response and cortisol levels, with a balancing action on the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis.
NEUROMODULATION
It crosses the blood-brain barrier and has been studied for antinociceptive (pain) and antioxidant actions.
DSIP does not act as a classic hypnotic. Research describes it rather as a regulator — a molecule that influences regulatory systems (sleep, stress, circadian rhythm) towards balance, not through forceful “sedation”. Hence the interest in sleep without the “heavy” feeling of sleeping pills.
The mechanisms come from preclinical studies and are not a guarantee of the result of a research product. The plasma half-life of DSIP is very short, although the actions studied appear to exceed it.

Sources: literature on DSIP and sleep neuropeptides.
The name comes from the original link with delta sleep. Research has investigated the role of DSIP in regulating sleep architecture and circadian rhythm, with variable results.
Preclinical studies investigated stress-modulating (cortisol), antinociceptive (pain) and antioxidant actions, which make it a molecule of interest beyond sleep.
The exact mechanism and molecular target of DSIP have not been fully clarified, and extensive clinical studies in humans are lacking. That is why it is used exclusively in a research context.

Research warning: DSIP is offered exclusively for scientific, research and in vitro purposes. It is not intended for human/veterinary use, or for the diagnosis, treatment or prevention of any condition, and is not medical advice.
All are neuropeptides, with different profiles: DSIP for sleep/stress, Selank anxiolytic, Semax nootropic.
Yes, it is often used in synergistic research, but it is important to observe the effect on the REM phase.

Important: Reference information for research purposes — not a recommendation for use or medical advice. DSIP is not approved for human/veterinary use.
In the research literature, DSIP is studied subcutaneously, at microgram doses:
The schedules come from the research literature and do not constitute a recommendation for individual use.
Supplied as a lyophilised powder in a 5 mg vial. The lyophilised form is stable at room temperature, away from light/moisture. For reconstitution, the recommended solvent is Peptide Matrix Water™, which stabilises the peptide and significantly extends the shelf life of the solution.
Laboratory tip: Add Peptide Matrix Water™ to your basket — the recommended stabilising solvent for all reconstituted peptides.
Standard protocol, applicable to all research peptides in the Peptology catalogue. For the concentration of the solution (mg/mL) per vial, use the peptide reconstitution calculator.
1. SOLVENT
2. RECONSTITUTION
The solvent is added to the wall of the vial, without agitation, then wait 10–15 minutes.
3. CALCULATION
Calculator → concentration in mg/mL
4. STORAGE
+2 °C to +8 °C, up to 60 days with Peptide Matrix Water
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Form | Lyophilised powder |
| Solvent | Peptide Matrix Water |
| Volume for reconstitution | 1–3 mL — 3 mL maximum (capacity of the standard vial) |
| Storage before reconstitution | Room temperature, protected from direct light (refrigeration is not mandatory) |
| After reconstitution | Up to 60 days at +2 °C to +8 °C with Peptide Matrix Water |
Precision pipette
Calibrated, 100–1000 µL — for accurate measurement of the volume of solvent added to the vial.
70% alcohol pads
Two pads — to disinfect the peptide vial and the solvent vial.
Stabilised solvent for lyophilised peptides. Why this one.
| ✅ Correct | ❌ Wrong |
|---|---|
| Disinfect the stoppers and the work surface with 70% alcohol, work with gloves | Working without disinfection |
| The solvent is added slowly down the wall of the vial | Direct jet onto the powder — foaming and denaturation |
| Light swirling between the palms | Shaking — foam, on which the peptides denature |
| Wait 10–15 minutes at room temperature | Mechanical mixing or heating |
| Visual inspection: clear, without particles | Using a cloudy or coloured solution |
⚠️ Maximum 3 mL of solvent. The standard vial does not allow a larger volume — do not exceed it during reconstitution.
Reconstitution per vial — solvent: Peptide Matrix Water. Concentration after addition (1 mg/mL = 1 µg/µL):
| Vial | + 1 mL | + 2 mL | + 3 mL |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 mg | 5 mg/mL | 2.5 mg/mL | 1.67 mg/mL |
👉 For any vial and solvent volume — use the calculator. It calculates the concentration (mg/mL, µg/µL) and the volume per sample (mL, µL).
BEFORE RECONSTITUTION
Room temperature, protected from direct light, in the original packaging. Refrigeration is not mandatory.
AFTER RECONSTITUTION
+2 °C to +8 °C, up to 60 days with Peptide Matrix Water. Discard the remainder after this period.
FREEZING
Not recommended. Freeze/thaw cycles degrade the structure of the peptide.
1. Shaking for “faster dissolution”
Foam = denaturation. Only gentle swirling between the palms.
2. Unsuitable solvent
For the stability of the peptide structure, use only a sterile, purpose-designed solvent — Peptide Matrix Water is recommended.
3. Ignoring slight cloudiness
If it is not completely clear = the sample does not meet the criteria for work.
4. Removing it from the refrigerator “for an hour or two”
Short exposures add up and jeopardise stability.
